FUCHS LUBRICANTS CO AWARDED NEXT GEN INNOVATION AWARD
Precision Metalforming Association Recognizes Chlorine-Free Product Technology
CHICAGO, IL – March 27, 2007.
FUCHS Lubricants Co. was awarded the Precision Metalforming Association’s NEXT GEN INNOVATION AWARD for the "Best New Materials" at the 2007 Metalform trade show in Chicago. Fuchs was recognized for the development of RENOFORM SYN 7940 stamping die lubricant. RENOFORM SYN 7940 is the first die lube to win this prestigious award. This product represents a significant advancement in stamping die lubricant technology as it is free of petroleum oil and chlorine, which had previously been required for severe stamping and drawing applications. "This product has been the culmination of three years work by Fuchs’ R&D department," said Mark Howe, VP of Industrial Product Management at Fuchs.
RENOFORM SYN 7940 has replaced heavily chlorinated water soluble oils in deep drawing applications that sometimes included difficult ironing. Substrates include CRS, HSLA and AHSS. Tom Hageman, Product Manager-Stamping Fluids at Fuchs states, "Renoform SYN 7940 can be welded through, is compatible with E-coat pretreatment lines and carbide tooling. It offers excellent rust protection without the residues normally associated with synthetic stamping lubes. This provides significant savings to the end user."
Replacing chlorinated products reduces the opportunity for rust to occur, makes disposal easier, and offers a cleaner work environment for the user.
FUCHS Lubricants Co. is the largest manufacturer of metalworking fluids in the world, with manufacturing facilities in 48 countries around the globe. Fuchs operates eight manufacturing plants and 34 warehouses in North America. Visit us at www.fuchs.com.
