FUCHS LUBRICANTES, S.A.U. began the year 2019 by inviting people to think differently about the future

12.03.2019 - 09:52

FUCHS LUBRICANTES, S.A.U. has started the year with renewed strength and enthusiasm, holding the commercial meetings of the Automotive and Industry Divisions and a meeting with all staff.

At the Automotive Division meeting held in Girona, business plans, success stories and new business development ideas for achieving the 2019 objectives were shared. There were also shown the intention to grow overproportionately in the coming years and that the current year serves to set the basis for such growth.

The Industry Division meeting was held in Sitges, where a large part of the sessions were devoted to technical and skills training. The challenges posed by the emergence of new materials and processes in automotive customers and related sectors were analysed and ways were studied to improve the service offered to customers, raising FUCHS's image to that of an all-round supplier of lubricants, technology, consultancy and auditing.

After the commercial meetings, the annual meeting with all staff members took place. With a participation of more than 90% of the workforce, it was used by the managers of the company's main areas and processes to summarize the results for 2018 and the objectives for 2019 and to highlight FUCHS's global and local strategy from different points of view.

For this reason, Carlo Ostino, Vice-President of Southern Europe and member of the Executive Committee of FUCHS EUROPE, explained how the strategy of the FUCHS group, in the short and medium term, is to use disruptions as opportunities; to internationalize key activities of the 33 production plants; to continue with the work of establishing global standards in processes, equipment and services, and to manage the talent and leadership skills of FUCHS staff.

Claudio Becker, Senior Compliance Officer of the FUCHS group, emphasized internal codes and compliance policies, as well as corporate values: trust, value creation, respect, reliability and integrity, which he defined as part of the DNA code of the organization and its staff. His talk reaffirmed that only through compliance, rigour and transparency can a sustainable relationship be established between FUCHS and all stakeholders.

Eladio Cuadrado, General Manager of the subsidiary in Spain, summarised the company's strategic objectives and highlighted the investments and expansion plans in personnel, technology and production for the Castellbisbal plant. He invited all staff to experiment and dare to innovate, without fear of being wrong, to contribute to specialisation and diversification in order to reduce risks and to enjoy the time of change in which the company finds itself.

The session was rounded off by Araceli Segarra, an external motivational speaker, well-known mountaineer and the first Spanish woman to climb to the summit of Everest. She told the story of her ascent to the highest peak in the world and her involvement in the rescue effort after the worst tragedy in the history of the mountain, in which 13 people lost their lives while climbing it, and which has recently been behind the creation of a Hollywood production entitled, like her documentary, EVEREST. The warmth and emotion in her words inspired and enlightened all FUCHS staff on how to approach, from new perspectives and strategies, the daily challenges of an ever-changing and increasingly challenging environment.

All the sessions were packed with information, exchange, enthusiasm and inspiration and have served to kick-start a year that FUCHS LUBRICANTES, S.A.U. promises to be especially meaningful and relevant.
