R1 of Women’s World Championship

Round one saw the FUCHS SILKOLENE backed DRT squad take their short 20-minute journey from the workshop to the one and only Matterley Basin, Winchester. Conditions looked tougher than they'd ever been on Saturday, even having a delayed schedule and MX2 qualifying removed.

This didn't stop Courtney from taking her first win of the season, showing that the "number 1" was hers to defend. She followed this through on the Sunday, where sunshine and excellent track prep made for perfect racing conditions. Courtney rounded off with another win and allowed her to take the overall once again.

There was minimal track time for Todd on the Saturday as the high winds disrupted the race schedule. With no racing it took a little longer for Wilson to get used to the racing conditions of Matterley Basin, as he struggled with arm pump in race one and narrowly missed out on points, finishing in 21st. For the second race, despite starting near the back of the pack, Todd showed some impressive manouvers and racing as he worked his way past his fellow MX2 competitors, eventually finishing in 13th place.

The team will now head straight to Valkenswaard for the second round of the MXGP World Motocross Championship, where Duncan will look to extend her points lead and Todd will be up against the sands of Valkenswaard.
