Description
LUBRODAL F 442 is a fine particle dispersion of graphite in water with excellent separation and lubrication properties.
LUBRODAL F 442 meets all the requirements of a water miscible lubricant for use in the forging and release procedures involved in warm forging steel.
LUBRODAL F 442 creates, when sprayed onto hot tool surfaces, a closed, highly adhesive film of graphite, which can withstand high temperatures.
Areas of application
LUBRODAL F 442 is particularly suitable for highly complex forming operations at high temperatures, e.g. for extrusion operations with long flow paths.
Method of application
LUBRODAL F 442 is supplied as a concentrate which must be diluted with water before use.
LUBRODAL F 442 can be diluted as required. We recommend that a mechanical stirrer is used. To prevent settling out, the diluted working liquids should be kept in motion, either by stirring or pumping.
Guidelines for dilution
Complex forging procedures:
4 ... 7 parts water, 1 part LUBRODAL F 442
Simple operations:
10 ... parts water, 1 part LUBRODAL F 442
The optimum proportions of water to lubricant depend on the application and must be tried out on site in each particular case.
