Description

GLEITMO HMP 8420 is a water-based dry solid film lubricant with corrosion protection sealing properties. The dry lubricating film remaining upon application shows a very good adhesion on different surface types, forming an uncoloured, glossy, transparent and touch-proof film.

Field of application

GLEITMO HMP 8420 is used for the lubrication of screws/bolts and nuts in order to achieve defined friction coefficients (µ = 0.09-0.14) as specified by the automotive industry (VDA). In combination with zinc-alloy coatings, e.g. zinc/nickel or zinc/iron, and as top coat for zinc flake coatings, GLEITMO HMP 8420 significantly increases the corrosion protection. GLEITMO HMP 8420 allows sealing and lubrication of the parts in one process step only.GLEITMO HMP 8420 is suitable for bolt connections of aluminium alloys.

Method of application

GLEITMO HMP 8420 is ready for use, but may be diluted if required. As a rule, GLEITMO HMP 8420 is applied by dipping and centrifuge coating procedures. Its application is performed directly after passivation and subsequent rinsing of the parts. After the coating procedure the parts are dried by hot air (part temperature of 80 - 120 °C). An increase within this range may have a positive effect on the corrosion protection properties of the dry lubricating film.

Note

Protect against freezing!Shelf-life: 6 months in closed original containers at room temperature.
