Our Safety Policy
FUCHS Lubricants Co. will:
- Ensure that our operations are safe for ourselves, site contractors, guests, and communities, and are managed in an environmentally sound manner.
- Expect all of our employees to actively participate in and provide positive contributions to the company’s EH&S performance.
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective EH&S management systems.
- Deliver products that are safe when used responsibly.
- Maintain and verify compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, regulatory agreements and other EH&S requirements to which our company subscribes.
This policy is enabled by our Executive Committee and other managers, corporate standards and appropriate division and/or site policies and management plans that establish objectives and targets.
Reporting
Our commitment to a safe workplace requires that all safety-related incidents (including accidents and near misses) are reported and tracked. Please contact your FUCHS host for reporting procedures or the EH&S department for more information.
Visitor Guidelines
- All visitors to our facility must enter through the front lobby and sign the visitor’s register.
- Protective equipment for visitors (high visual vest or clothing, safety glasses,closed toed shoes) must be worn in production and lab areas.
- Access to pits, tanks or other confined production spaces require an Entry Permit.
- Only authorized FUCHS employees may use facility vehicles and mechanical equipment.
- Locations of first aid kits, emergency showers/eye washes and fire extinguishers are clearly marked throughout the facility and on evacuation maps posted throughout.
- Parts of the plant premises are subject to CCVC surveillance by Security.
The following are prohibited on company premises
Smoking – both indoors and outdoors, except designated smoking areas.
Alcohol
Fire and open flames
Photography and video filming
Mobile phone use in designated areas
Animals
Access to production areas, laboratories and storage areas without a FUCHS employee escort
Horseplay (and other unsafe actions such as scuffling, fighting, etc.)
Open-toe shoes and sandals (except office areas). Production areas also require low-heeled shoes.
Emergency Information
Call 911 immediately for any emergency requiring immediate medical, fire or police assistance.
Severe Weather
Our public address system will provide directions in the event of severe weather (tornadoes, flooding, etc.). All visitors should remain with FUCHS hosts and report to one of our designated shelter areas (including restrooms, inner conference rooms and locker rooms). Do not leave the shelter area until directed to do so.
Evacuation Procedure
Any necessary evacuations will be indicated by an audible alarm or a public address system announcement. Refer to posted evacuation maps to identify the nearest exit and proceed to the rally point. Be sure to contact your Fuchs host to ensure your safety is reported. All exits are clearly marked by an exit sign.
