LUBRODAL F 24 W

Water-miscible die lubricant, containing graphite

Performance Features

  • lubricant for die forging, extrusions and warm forging operations
  • can be diluted with water as required
  • for use at mid-range and high temperatures
  • lubrication, releasing and cooling properties
  • creates a flexible, adhesive lubricant film on the dies
  • effective alternative to conventional graphite/water and graphite/oil formulations

Description

LUBRODAL F 24 W is a sedimentation stable concentrate of finely ground graphite in an oil-containg, waterbased carrier liquid. It has been developed for warm forging of steel but is also suitable for other forming operations.

Areas of application

LUBRODAL F 24 W is particularly suitable for highly complex forging operations involving mid-range and high temperatures, e.g. for die forging, extrusions and warm forging. In addition to its lubricating and releasing properties, LUBRODAL F 24 W also acts as a tool coolant. LUBRODAL F 24 W may be used in any situation where traditional graphite/water dispersions have reached their limits.

Method of application

LUBRODAL F 24 W is a die lubricant which must be diluted with water prior to use. The optimum dilution ratio depends on the application and must be found out on site during a trial. Despite the high suspension stability of the concentrate, we recommend to continously stir the dilution to prevent any sedimentation.
LUBRODAL F 24 W can be applied to forging tools by manual or automatic spraying equipment.

Guidelines for dilution:

Die forging: 5 to 10 parts water, 1 part LUBRODAL F 24 W
Hot forging (extrusion): 3 to 7 parts water, 1 part LUBRODAL F 24 W
Hammer forging: 2 to 10 parts water, 1 part LUBRODAL F 24 W
Warm forging, complex operations: 1 to 2 parts water, 1 part LUBRODAL F 24 W
Warm forging, subsequent stages: 2 to 5 parts water, 1 part LUBRODAL F 24 W
