Description
LUBRODAL F 645 AFE is a concentrated water-based, fine particle size, colloidal graphite dispersion. LUBRODAL F 645 AFE has unique wetting and release properties that make it versatile in a wide variety of applications. This versatility makes LUBRODAL F 645 AFE useful for most forged alloys of steel and various sizes, shapes (complex or simple configurations) and weights of forgings.
Applications of LUBRODAL F 645 AFE include the usage in forward and backward extrusions, upsetting and die release for impression die forging.
LUBRODAL F 645 AFE produces a thin, tenacious, lubricating film over a wide range of die temperatures.
LUBRODAL F 645 AFE is designed for use in highly automated operations and mechanical presses.
Method of application
LUBRODAL F 645 AFE is sold as a concentrate. For most applications LUBRODAL F 645 AFE is diluted with water to achieve the correct concentration for a specific forging operation. Prior to dilution LUBRODAL F 645 AFE should be mixed to uniformity.
Guidelines for Dilution
Complicated pieces involving difficult operations: 2-3 parts water to 1 part LUBRODAL F 645 AFE
Standard forging operations: 4-5 parts water to 1 part LUBRODAL F 645 AFE
Simple parts / shallow cavities or rib sections: 6-10 parts water to 1 part LUBRODAL F 645 AFE
The optimum dilution ratio has to be determined in pratise.
Note
To avoid contamination reseal containers after mixing. Diluted material must be agitated constantly to avoid sedimentation.
