MOVING YOUR WORLD Through Win-Win Cooperation: the first FUCHS China Supplier Conference was held successfully in Yingkou
On May 10, 2023, the first FUCHS China Supplier Conference was held with the support of the Yingkou government in Yingkou, Liaoning, where our first local production site was established. The conference was reported by Liaoning TV, Yingkou Integrated Media Center and China Chemical Industry News.
The event brought together FUCHS China, our core suppliers and the Yingkou government to discuss development strategies. At the conference, the participants reached a consensus on how to achieve win-win cooperation under the severe market environment. We also had a discussion about green, localization, innovation and other topics, which reflected the theme of the conference, "MOVING YOUR WORLD Through Win-Win Cooperation".
At the beginning of the conference, Mr. Zhu Qingping, member of FUCHS Group Management Committee & CEO of FUCHS China, outlined the business objectives and development directions of FUCHS, and explained our solution to business growth bottleneck: to enhance local capability, competitive strength and sustainable capability by building product, expert, sales, organization, and digital power to work on projects with good performance in an efficient and collaborative way.
Mr. Bruno Chaouat, VP Global Procurement, then described the global procurement strategy and supplier requirements of FUCHS Group and highlighted the need for suppliers to work with FUCHS for reduced costs, increased efficiency, and continued innovation, and to invest in digitalization with FUCHS to help reduce carbon emissions in an increasingly complex global landscape.
Ms. Cathy WU, COO of FUCHS China, gave an overarching speech entitled "Building an Efficient, Resilient, Intelligent and Green Supply Chain", talking about the current challenges for FUCHS China's supply chain, our expectations of supplier partners and multi-faceted strategic initiatives, as well as showing FUCHS' core suppliers the path to achieving supply chain goals.
Ms. Cheng Ying, VP QA & Sustainability of FUCHS China, elaborated on FUCHS Group's sustainability policy and explained how the sustainability policy is implemented in China and how suppliers should work with FUCHS to achieve sustainability.
Mr. Philip Collins, Procurement Director of FUCHS China, clarified FUCHS China's supplier performance measurement standards, and put forward specific requirements for suppliers: shifting from a responsive to proactive behavior model, and improving their value through significant cost reduction programs, product quality improvement, localization, and technological innovation.
A highlight of the conference was the first-time presentation of Excellent Supplier Award by FUCHS China to outstanding suppliers. A total of 12 suppliers were honored with the award in five categories: Service Excellence Award, Supply Assurance Award, Local Innovation/R&D Investment Award, Quality Excellence Award, and Proactive Production Localization Award.
