Chairman of FUCHS LUBRICANTS (CHINA) LTD. won the Shanghai Magnolia Honour Award

In the afternoon of September 30, 2014, the "Shanghai Magnolia Honor Award"ceremony was held at the hall of the Shanghai government. Mr. Klaus Hartig, CEO of East Asia FUCHS won the "Shanghai Magnolia Honor Award," and Mayor Yangxiong granted the honorary certificates and medals. As the representative of nine winners, Mr. Klaus Hartig made an award-winning speech.

As one of the highest awards for the recognition of foreign nationals in Shanghai, the "Magnolia Honor Award" is to be granted to foreign nationals who have made outstanding contributions to Shanghai's economic and social development as well as foreign relations, being an excellent award for foreign nationals in Shanghai, as well as a highly anticipated honor. Since its establishment in 1993, only 278 persons have received this award.

In his acceptance speech Mr. Klaus Hartig said his success is inseparable from China’s remaining open to the world and China’s efforts in promoting foreign investment and bravely assuming global responsibility, and 18 years of working and living in Shanghai have made him lucky to personally participate in these enormous change, so that he can give back something to the city. As a member who won the Magnolia Honor Award, he is not only very proud, but also will always endeavor to make more contributions to Shanghai with love, encouragement and inspiration.

Mr. Hartig is enthusiastic about public welfare, takes the initiative to undertake a variety of social responsibilities, and is concerned about and personally involved in many charitable activities. Under his direction, since the official launching of "FUCHS grows with you — Sport for All" in June 2011, the charitable project has annually sponsored 300 children from Nanxiang Central Primary School to participate in outdoor activities, and the charity-funded project has been carried out continuously for four years; a total of 1,200 children have been benefited. "FUCHS‘s Love Challenge" was another long-term community-based welfare activity initiated by Mr. Hartig, with the aim of becoming a good neighbor community. The public service activity allow volunteers to walk into the lives of those who need help, not only by providing financial and material support, but also through the formation of a volunteer team. As an emotionally-based and psychologically multifaceted charity, it provides assistance including visiting the community welfare centers, expressing concerning about the elderly losing independence, caring for people with disabilities, showing attention to children with autism, providing long-term philanthropic support for the education of outstanding students from poor families, participating in cancer club activities, "care for the earth" gardens programs of the docking area for the promotion of the use of biodegradable lubrication products to enhance public awareness of environmental protection through special events and other charity actions. "Heart to Heart" subsidizes the cost of heart surgery for poor children with congenital heart disease and is a long-term charitable project Mr. Klaus Hartig participates in. In 2013, Mr. Klaus Hart introduced this charity project to FUCHS again and launched the "Heart to Heart" charity that subsidized the cost of three heart surgeries for children with congenital heart disease.

Mr. Klaus Hartig‘s contributions to the charity have been recognized and respected by people from all walks of life; he received the "Shanghai Magnolia Commemoratory Award" in 2012, was elected as the Sixth Session of "Shanghai Charity Star" in 2014 and 2014 was given the "I was one of the Ten Outstanding Figures of Civiled Jiading" award.
