Vice Mayor of Mannheim Leads Delegation of Federation of German-Chinese Friendship Associations to Visit FUCHS China

On August 2, Volker PROFFEN, Vice Mayor of Mannheim, Germany, led a delegation from the Federation of German-Chinese Friendship Associations to visit and hold exchanges at FUCHS China Suzhou Plant.

The delegation consisted of Klaus UWE BENNETER, President of the Federation of German-Chinese Friendship Associations, Felix KRUZ, Chairman of the German-Chinese Friendship Association of the Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region, Karl SCHLAPPNER, former head coach of the Chinese Men's National Football Team, as well as other German figures from politics, sports and business circles.

Dr. Jianqiang QU, CEO of FUCHS China, Kris VAN GASSE, Chief Technology Officer,  Yueming LOU, Deputy Plant Director, Dayong CHEN, Quality Control Manager, Chao ZHOU, Senior Performance Test Manager and other colleagues gave the delegation a warm reception. The two sides held friendly discussions to explore cooperation opportunities and new paths for cultural exchanges between China and Germany.

During the exchange session, the delegation toured FUCHS Suzhou Plant and laboratory on site. They inspected FUCHS China’s manufacturing capacity and quality control standards up close, gained first-hand insight into the century-old German brand’s robust strength and standardized operation system built over years of deep cultivation in the Chinese market, and spoke highly of FUCHS’ development achievements in China.

In addition, the two sides held a football jersey handover ceremony to deepen friendly ties through sports culture. Dr. Jianqiang QU presented a signed jersey to Volker PROFFEN, Vice Mayor of Mannheim, and officially handed over the sponsored jerseys for the China-Germany U16 Youth Football Friendship Match to Karl SCHLAPPNER on behalf of FUCHS China.

This interaction not only demonstrates sound collaboration between enterprises and government authorities, but also reflects FUCHS’ commitment to fostering China-Germany friendly exchanges and fulfilling corporate social responsibility as a multinational enterprise.

The China-Germany U16 Youth Football Friendship Match was jointly initiated in Mannheim by Felix KRUZ, Chairman of the German-Chinese Friendship Association of the Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region, and Karl SCHLAPPNER, former head coach of the Chinese Men's National Football Team, back in 2012 to mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Germany.

Originating from Mannheim, Germany, FUCHS shares deep historical ties with the city.
