In the food, beverage, feed, and pharmaceutical industries, special cleaners are required to effectively clean a wide range of materials under very diverse conditions. These sectors are subject to strict regulations related to food safety, as contact with machinery during production cannot be completely ruled out. For these tasks, Rivolta offers specialized cleaning agents—both solvent-based and water-based—that are health-safe and NSF registered.

NSF International, a U.S.-based non-profit organization dedicated to standardization and certification in the areas of drinking water, food, and health, has classified products into different categories based on their intended use. For cleaning products, the following categories apply:

A1: General-purpose cleaners for universal use in all areas, including production zones in the food industry.
K1: Solvent-based cleaners that can be used in the food industry outside of production areas.
K2: Solvent-based cleaners for electrical and electronic equipment and instruments.
