LUBRODAL FC 331
Water miscible lubricant which contains graphite
Performance Features
- graphite precoat for semi-hot forging
- can be applied either by spraying or dipping
- excellent wetting properties, even at high temperatures
- graphite film adheres well and is thermally stable
- prevents scale during and after inductive heating (700-800°C)
- stable against oxidation
- produces little smoke
Description
LUBRODAL FC 331 is a fine particle colloidal dispersion of graphite in water. LUBRODAL FC 331 meets all the requirements of a water-miscible lubricant for use in the forging and release procedures involved in warm, and semi-hot forging steel. LUBRODAL FC 331 creates a closed, highly adhesive film of graphite, which can withstand high temperatures even when applied onto preheated metal surfaces. LUBRODAL FC 331 is preferentially used as a billet precoat for semi-hot forging (700 - 800 °C).
Method of application
LUBRODAL FC 331 is supplied as a concentrate which must be diluted with water before use. LUBRODAL FC 331 can be diluted as required. We recommend that a mechanical stirrer is used. To prevent settling out, the working liquids should be kept in motion, either by stirring or pumping.
Guidelines for dilution (graphite precoating):
1...3 parts water, 1 part LUBRODAL FC 331
