New Engine Oil Specifications for Opel
Overview and Products
With the introduction of the dexos1TM Gen 2 specification in 2017, the required product range for Opel vehicles was extended. Instead of using only one product (dexos2TM) up to now, two different engine oils had to be used. With the acquisition of Opel by PSA, further specifications are now relevant which we would like to explain to you in more detail here:
Application / Description
2009 introduced for the service market in Europe, backwards compatible to the former GM specifica-tions GM-LL-A-025 / GM-LL-B-025 and replaces them completely. dexos2TM is in use for various Diesel engines.

dexos1TM Gen 2
2017 introduced successor to dexos1TM. Provides improved protection against LSPI (Low Speed Pre-Ignition) and is used exclusively in Gasoline engines. May no longer be used for the motors listed below:
LSQ, LWT, LE1, LE2 (MJ 2018 and afterwards), LFV (MJ 2018 and afterwards), LVL (only Euro 6d), LXO, LVM, LWQ, LWV, L3T, LXD

OPEL OV 040 1547
New engine oil specification with reduced HTHS viscosity and therefore specially developed for modern Gasoline and Diesel engines.
Mandatory for the following engines:LSQ, LWT, LE1, LE2 (MJ 2018 and afterwards), LFV (MJ 2018 and afterwards), LVL (only Euro 6d), LXO, LVM, LWQ, LWV, L3T, LXD
