MOLYPAUL 783
Mould lubricant for continuous casting plants
Performance Features
- prevents scaling in the mould
- minimises mould wear
- avoids deflagrations during initial casting
- improves the surface quality of intially-cast slabs and billets
Description
MOLYPAUL 783 is a pasty graphite-based solid lubricant forming a stable coating on the mould’s wall under the effect of heat.
Field of application
MOLYPAUL 783 is used to pre-treat moulds of continuous casting plants in the iron and steel industry for an initial protection before or during a casting sequence. After its application MOLYPAUL 783 forms an infiltration-inhibiting lubricating film with a low coefficient of friction between the mould’s wall and the molten metal.
Method of application
Remove any loose deposits in the mouth of the mould. Apply the paste uniformly in a thin layer using a paintbrush, roller or sponge, etc. Protect roller or sponge against contamination after the application. Always re-cover the material container after use.
Notes
The service life of MOLYPAUL 783 is unlimited as long as the container has not been opened.
