Cutting fluids (ECOCOOL range) and water-miscible deformation fluids (RENOFORM range) require some attention when restarting production.
FUCHS Product Management Experts recommend the following:
Check the concentration using a Brix refractometer (C% = Brix reading x correction coefficient) after taking care to let the product stand for a few hours; measure the concentration of the "lower" phase with a pipette, foreign oils which have been released on the surface. This concentration value should be within the nominal range (example: 7 to 10%).
- If this is the case, treat the bath preventively with RENOCLEAN SMC+ at 0.5% in order to strengthen its alkalinity reserve. Start the watering system for 15 minutes to homogenize the bath in use and then stop the installation
- If this is not the case:
- increase the concentration in the nominal range by adding concentrate at low flow and in turbulence
- turn on the watering system for 15 minutes to homogenize the bath in use
- check the actual concentration value again. Repeat the operation until a correct concentration value is obtained. Treat the bath preventively with RENOCLEAN SMC+ at 0.5% in order to strengthen its alkalinity reserve. Restart the watering system for 15 minutes to homogenize the bath in service and then stop the installation.
