Sensitive equipment shortly en route to brand new lab
The time has finally come to relocate to Fors. Maria Eklund, Senior Director Research & Development, is one of the people with the great responsibility for moving our laboratory, with all its instruments for product development, quality control and analysis of customer samples.
Our intensive process qualification period, including production tests, is now finished, and it is time to enter the next phase: the move itself.

In Fors we have built a brand new lab – and we will of course be taking all the sophisticated instruments and other equipment we need for our analyses, from the current lab in Nynäshamn. Because these are very complex and highly sensitive instruments, meticulous planning of the lab move is crucial. We have conducted thorough risk analyses with detailed planning so that we know exactly how the instruments should be packed, and we have drawn up special procedures for how everything should be moved.
All of our equipment will be calibrated and quality assured both before packing and after unpacking, to make sure that each instrument works properly, and we can be certain that we’re working with exactly the same precision as before. But the project is not ‘just’ about moving large quantities of advanced, sensitive equipment, but also about doing it quickly so as to minimise downtime. It is therefore crucial to coordinate the move with other departments in production, where the lab is an important part of the process. We do not intend to risk any production downtime that could affect our customers.
Work at the laboratory includes product development, quality control of produced goods, and of course analysis of samples from customers. It is extremely important that we can continue analysing samples with the same high precision as before, also after the move.
For us, it goes without saying that all our customers should feel completely confident in this matter.
