With the winners of both the 2023 MRF Tyres BTRDA Gold Star® and Fuchs Lubricants BTRDA Bronze Star® Rally Championships already known – albeit with some possible adjustments to the other podium places – all eyes now turn to the two-wheel drive BTRDA Silver Star® Championship on the final round of the MRF Tyres BTRDA Rally Series, the Visit Conwy Cambrian Rally on 28th October.

It was the first round of the 2023 BTRDA Rally Series, which saw teams tackle the wintery ice of the Malcolm Wilson Rally. We focus on the FUCHS LUBRICANTS BTRDA BRONZE STAR CHAMPIONSHIP but will review all categories.

Nigel Jenkins (Nova) has only contested the last three rounds of the FUCHS LUBRICANTS BTRDA Bronze Star (1400) Championship but, on each occasion, he’s certainly made his presence felt! Two wins (including one on the Trackrod) and a second-place have kept the regulars on their mettle but, in terms of the Championship, it’s all come a bit too late!

The penultimate round of the FUCHS LUBRICANTS Bronze Star rally championship (cars up to 1400c.c.) took place in north Wales on the Visit Conwy Cambrian rally last Saturday. Held in conditions of driving rain variously described as grim, unrelenting, and horrible, the event was 18 crews contesting the 7 stages in the north Wales forest.

The Cambrian Rally (30th October) is the penultimate round of the BTRDA Series and will see contenders for all the various categories heading for its base in Llandudno... and it's close at the top between the FUCHS LUBRICANTS Bronze Star contenders!

With two rounds to go in the MRF Tyres BTRDA Rally Series there is everything to play for and with dropped scores now starting to count as the battle for the various 2021 titles continues.

With Covid restrictions still rife across the country, the organisers of the Eventsigns Woodpecker Stages, the third round of the MRF Tyres BTRDA Rally Series and second of the Motorsport UK 2021 English Rally Championship in association with Seacon UK, have been forced to make some major changes to its tried-and-tested format in order that the event can take place at all. Not least of these is that Sixty & Worcs. M.C. has had to move away from its traditional Ludlow Racecourse base for the first time since 1997!
